Cappuccino originally comes from Italy where it still is part of the morning routine. The way the Italians will recognise a tourist is because only a tourist will order a cappuccino after midday. The Italians see it as a morning drink, but outside of Italy it is drank throughout the day.

The Way to Make a Cup of Cappuccino

It takes a few tricks to make a good Cappuccino. You need 3 components: first the espresso, second the hot milk and third the foamed milk. Only when you get the proportions just right is when you can make the perfect cup of cappuccino. It used to be only the practiced chef to make this lovely drink. Only since the cappuccino machine was invented, anyone can do it.

How Cappuccino Machines Work

They are made to make and produce espresso coffee. In some cases they are even able to grind the espresso beans to make a delicious cup of espresso coffee. Only when the machine has elected the brew into a cup at the right temperature, steamed milk will be added by the machine. These first steps are the easy part when making a cup of espresso.

Now comes the hard part of the recipe. It is quite difficult to get the temperature of the foamy milk right. The aim is to make a light froth of correct consistency and temperature. To counteract the bitter taste of the espresso this froth has to be light

One of the world’s best producers of cappuccino machines is Bunn. These machines are not just used in private homes but also in bars and restaurants. Here they become indispensable because of their ability to create the ingredients at just the right amount and temperature; also the professional cappuccino makers costing about $2000 have up to 5 spouts making them very efficient. For the private homes there are other more reasonably priced makes.

For example there is the Nespresso cappuccino maker costing around $400. This machine is also able to produce hot steam with its water plumbing. The milk dispenser is able to make froth for both cappuccino and latte macchiato.

Of course there are other makes for both home and commercial use, the latter will be more expensive because they are better equipped being able to fill up to 5 cups at the same time. Whereby the privately used machines will only serve up to 2 cups simultaneously.

Finding The Right Recipe.

Unlike other types of coffee, espresso and cappuccino are very specific in terms of flavour, consistency and ingredients. One cup of coffee from one particular machine may taste just fine to one person, while the next person thinks it is weak or bitter. With espresso and cappuccino, there is a right taste and a wrong taste. You either like it or you don’t, but don’t mess with the recipe!
